I Had a Relationship With a Crazy Person
My Ex From Hell...
I think sometimes it's very difficult to tell the difference between mental illness and extreme immaturity. In this case, I think it was the latter.
My Ex From Hell was older than me, in that she was born several years before me, but had all the wisdom, morale fibre and decisiveness of a 12-year-old. She also *loved* drama. She couldn't stand things being peaceful and happy. She was ethnic Irish, and everyone knows what "Fightin' Irish" means, but usually that comes down to being up for a challenge and to stimulate thought and character. In her case, it amounted to strife and frustration. In fact, she got turned on by my anger! One night she had me screaming at her and that got her *so* excited!
So, when we first met, she was seeing this guy for a few years, who wasn't treating her right (not really the sensitive, New Age guy type who slaps his woman around). So she talked about us being more than friends, and eventually she'd break up w/this guy. But "Rome wasn't built in a day". Well, I was young, dumb, naive, and *very* much smitten, so I put up w/her crap... for months and months and months. She had no intention of breaking up w/him. She liked that I was smarter and more decent than him, and that I didn't hit her, but she wasn't ready to put in entirely w/me, and still wanted to keep her options open w/him.
Well, as foolish and young as I was, I was able to put up w/that for way too long, but not forever. So I said goodbye to her forever.
And for rather a long time, she did stay away. Several months later, she called me back and tried to work things out again. Well, not only had I developed an immunity to her bs, but I was seeing someone else. That wasn't going to be enough to stop her. She kept at me for months later. No matter how many times I hung up the phone as soon as she'd call, she wasn't going to get the message. Only when I got the police involved did she stop. This is around the time I entered chronic depression, for which I still need to be medicated.
For the longest time I never fully understood why she was so obsessed w/me, until the Twilight movie franchise came out. The thing about Ex From Hell is that what was wrong w/her had nothing to do w/the way she looked. So she had no shortage of guys trying to get into her pants. When I told her I believed in waiting until marriage, she didn't believe me. Since I didn't trust her as far as I could ejaculate, I wasn't going to squander my first time on her. When she saw me actually sticking to those principles, she reacted to me the same way that girls her psychological age react to Twilight: a story about a hottie w/a libido who doesn't want to sleep w/his gf on principle.
