Its disingenuous hand wringing. Inauthentic "virtue" signaling.
Decent people know damm well how this stuff happened. We used to have a thing called universal public education and most of us learned enough about history to figure out the same conclusions. Including me. We were also taught well not to connect the dots. But it doesn't absolve us of the responsibility to do it.

@OogieBoogie Its become something to ignore as supposedly too ugly to contemplate as if we aren't mired in it. Its the forced invisibility of it, the forcing is the obscenity, the invisibility is what permits us to tolerate it.
As an example, its a CRIME to photograph the obscenity of factory farms. But the true obscenity is that the thing is made acceptable through the forced invisibility.
It happens here. We shake our holier than thou fingers at posts exposing the ugliest aspects our society, and then ignore them in lieu of the bathroom humor and scrotum humor and deepfried bird-feather photos.

@OogieBoogie And just about everyone thinks money buys us nice trips to Malta and how desirable doing that would be. The "best" posts here are like that. Nobody doesn't think they are beautuful ideas to wear....they get "hearts" from everybody, me included. Its so knee-jerk. But its part of the compulsive SELF-brainwashing. I also end up dreaming of having enough bucks to spare for this stuff instead of relieving suffering. The excuses are sooooo handily available....
