I Like School Uniforms

When I was growing up and attending public school in the USA, I didn't envy the parochial school students who had to wear uniforms.

But now I can see the value in school uniforms, especially for girls. It avoids girlish competition over who has the most fashionable or expensive outfits, or who can attend school the most days in a row without wearing the same outfit twice. One can't tell the rich from the poor, and school uniforms aren't all that expensive compared to some children's clothing.
