I'm not saying that Popular will is always right. I mean Prop 8 passed in California and I'm totally opposed. For those who don't know what Proposition 8 is: https://ballotpedia.org/California_Proposition_8,_the_%22Eliminates_Right_of_Same-Sex_Couples_to_Marry%22_Initiative_(2008)
That passed by Ballot measure.
But the framers were terrified of Democracy and of the opinion that the common folk were too ignorant to govern the country and as a result they baked a lot of AntiDemocratic Nonsense into the system. The Electoral College in particular makes my Vote irrelevant based on Geography and Population of my state. I live in Oregon which isn't of much consequence in either the Primarys or the General election.

There's a reason it was Safe to vote for Jill Stein in the General election in Oregon.
That's why I'm reminding everyone they were slave owners, they only let White male land owners vote and Women were not allowed to vote.
The framers were prejudice.
Oregon’s puny seven Electoral College votes, like Oklahoma’s or Connecticut’s, elicit barely a mention in passing from national TV political analysts. Seven is only 1.3 percent of the nation’s 538 electoral votes. When was the last time Jake Tapper or Charles Krauthammer mentioned the Sooner, the Nutmeg or the Beaver states?
