I Know The Founding Fathers Were Not Infalliable

The framers of the constitution were slaveowners who thought only propertied white males should be allowed the right to vote.

The were far from perfect men but we revere them and in american politics they're treated as if they were infalliable.

Their fear of direct democracy was misplaced. They called it mob rule and disparaged the passions of the people. But I have to take note that Ballot measures are direct democracy and my state legalized marijuana by ballot measure.

The government right now does not reflect the will of the people and the masses are the only body that cannot be corrupted by the influence of money in politics. You can't wine and dine the majority of the electorate.

You can wine and dine elected officials though.

I place my hopes in Direct Democracy, not my fears.
