650 million miles is actually pretty close.

@jetpack It’s 650 million million miles... 1,046 million million kilometres

We might need to take sandwiches and a change of clothes. 😀
@newjaninev2 imagine an advanced race recieving our leaked radio signals from there. No way to interpret them. They could've replied yesterday....or sent an automated drone full of anti hydrogen at 1/3 the speed of light to destroy us.

@stratosranger There’s also the question of timing. Their species would need to have evolved so as to use intelligence, rather than all the other options, and do so at just the right moment in the many billions of years available.

We’ve been broadcasting signals for only some 200 years.

@newjaninev2 That picture is incredible. Mentally I know the universe is huge and we are a tiny speck, but damn. 200 years of signals, and thats how far we have gotten??? Insane!

@Pherick and those signals, remember, are travelling at the speed of light. 😀

@Pherick You’ll remember this, of course. An oldie, but still a goodie
