I Love Science

Science is not agreeing with those you believe are scientists. Science is not memorizing and regurgitating scientific theories. Science is not a consensus of like minded individuals.

Science is taking the theory you have and trying to disprove it. Science is putting things to the ultimate test. Science is disbelieving what you have been told and proving said information true or false by your own efforts.

When you accept a theory without ever testing it you are not doing science you are doing religion.

How would I prove the existence of, say, Pluto by my own efforts?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@JohnYahYah Buy a telescope.
JohnYahYah · 61-69, M
@hippyjoe1955 it appears that certain "civilian" telescopes can see Pluto under specific circumstances, so I stand corrected. What about an object that cannot be seen except by a Hubble-like telescope? I don't own or have access to the Hubble, so should I not believe its discoveries?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@JohnYahYah Certainly hold it in question. Those exoplanets they keep talking about are the theory created to explain blinking stars. Much like the red shift a nice theory but no proof.

I can't see a virus with a microscope, so perhaps my humors are out-of-balance instead, and I should ingest quicksilver
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@JohnYahYah If you want to prove your theory go ahead.
JohnYahYah · 61-69, M
I believe that we all live inside the empty skull of a dead giant on a long-forgotten battlefield.
The stars are gemstones stuck to the roof of the skull. I've never seen a star up close, so I no reason to believe otherwise.
Stars move, you say? Obviously a beetle or ant is carrying a gem across the other side of the skull - it is simple logic.

@JohnYahYah Nice theory. I don't agree with it but to each their own. BTW religion is not a bad thing.

Some day the giants may return, toss the skull across the icy plain, and kill us all.

We must build a pyre of children, or immigrants, as a sacrifice to keep the giants away. This will be my election platform in 2020 - "See the giant skull truth in 20/20". Catchy?

I will also accept donations to my Skull-church on Paypal, thank you
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@JohnYahYah I bet you have no end of donations pouring in.
JohnYahYah · 61-69, M
I was hoping you would contribute as well. Only those that accept Giant Skull Truth will be saved. Those that do not will be cast out of the skull's eye sockets and perish.

There is an old book that explains all this. It was written by giants so you know it is true.

@JohnYahYah No I have my own belief system and it is in conflict with yours.
