I Family Modesty

We do practice modesty in our family, partly as an end in itself, but also as response to the current fashion of sexualizing girls and women. It really is important to look at a person beyond their skin, and modesty is a reminder of that.

Focusing less on the body means not treating it's covering as important one way or the other. Too much or too little covering become meaningless phrases. Calling modesty a virtue and defining it as always covering every inch of a girls skin can make a girl grow to think her skin is the bad thing. that's not helpful for anyone.
