I Believe That "Homemaker" Is a Perfectly Valid Occupation

I'm pretty sure I want to follow my mum and be a fulltime home-maker.
want to be looked after and provided for, and in return I will look after the house and our children. I think it will be really fulfilling - watching my Mum it's hard work but even so..
I think traditional relationships have become under-rated - its not that men and women are not equal, but that we have different strengths and weaknesses and compliment each other perfectly as a result.
Its really sad that many people look on being a home-maker as a sort of second best option. And I want to be there for my children too.I think its really selfish to prioritize your career over your children.

well that's how you think at the moment, maybe it will continue to be how you think. .but.. the point is, I guess, that while it suits some, it really doesn't suit all, or perhaps even most.. Many women in the past didn't have a choice..they had to stay home and to be honest, once the kids go to school it can be lonely, boring and unfulfilling.. frustrating.. and sadly many women find that if all they are interested in is kids and home, they end up not being the most sparkling company, and not very exciting.. Men on the other hand ended up working hard, barely being home, having little to do with their kids, and even resenting that they have to pay for everything.. often these men would seek *comfort* elsewhere..

A further thought about the career thing.. one can spend all those years looking after kids only to find that when they are older and don't need you.. you have few skills and employable advantages.. and what tends to happen is you are trapped in low paid jobs where people younger than you, those who had the career and went back to work, end up being your boss and realistically you stand no chance of ever competing because they have the education and the experience that you will never have time to gain

@Adaydreambeliever ah yes exactly I do agree with there ☺. I mean look at serena Williams. I feel shes being punished for having gone off to have a kid and such at the moment. But shes a real inspiration for me. I do work as well as keep the house in order but it is from home making and selling jewellery ☺
