I Love Japan

So the Japanese society of Oregon is trying to find host families for Exchange students from Japan in Oregon and I'm trying to get my mom to agree to host a Japanese student. We hosted a french exchange student once. It worked out nicely.

i'd give them my room and sleep on the couch. I have a laptop now so it would all be ok. I wouldn't have to move my PC into the living room.

I'd love to Host a Japanese student. The English penetration in Japan is so low. They only made it mandatory to study it in 2011. Now 5th grade students in Japan are learning English.

It's remarkable that they took so long because English is kind of the lingua franca of the world. I have English privilege because I speak it.

I'm trying to Learn Japanese because I don't think it's fair to expect everyone to learn your language but not learn there's and also as a Poet knowing more words = Better able to express myself.

But English speaking people have really dominated the world economy and taken over the world. It used to be french that was the lingua franca but now it's English. We've taken over.

So many Japanese English businesses need people that speak English. it's really important. It's unbelievable that Japan has taken so long to mandate it be taught to their children.

They take for granted that everyone speaks Japanese. I don't. I'm thinking about buying Rocket Japanese soon to learn more but I don't speak it yet I only know a little bit and I can't even write.

America and Canada and Britain are the richest country's on Earth and they all speak English. Many of us ONLY speak english. I only speak english.

@BetweenKittensandRiots I understand.

A lot of Japanese people would be impressed to see a westerner with good Japanese specially if they haven't lived in Japan. I know I would be. 🇯🇵🇺🇸

おつかれさまでした
@Shine immersion is supposedly the quickest and best way to learn but it's really difficult to do it without living in japan. I live in Oregon.
@Shine I'm an gamer and anime nerd and I also want to learn japanese because I'd love to be able to import and play stuff that was only in Japan. The cultural differences are also really strong motives. America is too christian https://kotaku.com/5794922/how-one-man-stopped-square-enix-from-letting-gamers-kill-yahweh

I want to kill yahweh. Japan has a completlely different religious landscape and I'm an atheist in america and alienated by the the hyper religiousness of my country.

I'm not christian. I don't go to church ever.
