I Want to Get Married One Day

Brian, if I can give one piece of advice to everybody in the world it is, 'do not get married.' I am a veteran of 2 marriages and the hostilities I have been exposed to, I'd have rather spent a tour in Afghanistan. There's a meme out there somewhere which says: 'Marriage betting half your shit that love lasts a lifetime.'

Expectations can be very different from reality. I've seen it, I've been through it. Lies, cheating, theft, betrayal. I know it's not always like that. I've seen the good too... and there are plenty of bad times in the good too. It's the big betrayals that I can't handle well. Little petty crap can be fixed, ignored, worked on, whatever.

Living together works for some, and not for others. Each relationship is its own and what the partners make it. Whatever works for ya, that's great

I have no doubts about that. You can't put two humans together and expect everything to be perfect

I'm living with my partner now 6 years no problems.
Marriage 1 - 2 years and she was looking for other guys but thought I would still support her financially.
Marriage 2 - lasted 12 years but when I told an acquaintance it was over he said it was only a matter of time you've been complaining about her for 10 years. We married as she was pregnant and I desperately wanted it to work and stayed together for the kids.

Being married is also frustrating sometimes..

Unfortunately we sometimes expect them to be anyway.. Despite the fact that we ourselves are not (usually) shrugs.. Who knows tho.. Sigh :/

I think marriage is a beautiful thing. Marriage may not be everyone's cup of tea but that doesn't mean it won't work out for others. I think some people just fall out of love
