My pet dog is acting strange ever since I've been ill.

My little dog never leaves my sight it's like he can tell that I am sick, he'll lay on the floor right next to the foot of my food, i hear the dog whimpering around as if something were wrong. He is watching me with a sad look in it's eyes. Poor little thing.
