I wrote this when I was a little girl

Even as a young child I enjoyed writing. The first time a very good friend moved away I wrote this little poem to her.:
It hurts so much to say goodbye It hurts so much I want to cry.
I wish there was a way you could stay and never have to go away. I will always remember you as my friend now and forever until the end.

That little poem has stuck with me all these years and although it’s simple it makes me reflect on how important this person was to me and how life long friendships have always been very special to me. I am blessed to have some life long friends that I will forever treasure. This person I wrote this poem to is still in my life as we were reunited later in life. Such a blessing to have special friends.
