I Think Therefore I Am Controversial

First Muslim Mayor of London Bans Bikini Clad Models on London Underground in Ads

Under the guise of body shaming, he is protecting women.

The first step in how the future will look under Sharia?

When you want to change a culture, you do it one small step at a time.

So why are you convinced it's not because of body shaming? There's been petitions over the ads for quite some time now. They were even a talking point during the elections. Why leave something up that a large group finds offensive? I know you're going to come back with the whole "PC Pill" comment that you used below but what's the point in leaving them up? I've yet to hear of any huge outpouring of tears over them coming down.

I think the line between trying/not trying to be PC and just doing something because it's the decent thing to do gets too easily blurred these days. There are people today acting like they are some kind of revolutionary thinker because they don't care if what they say and do offends anyone. There has always been a term for that...it's called an a$$hole, lol.

Carissimi...I was only speaking in general terms about the type of person that chooses to exercise their "freedom" to offend whoever and whatever they choose. I never brought your name into it or even mentioned the pronoun "you" in that whole last paragraph about being PC. It's quite telling that you took it as such though and seemed to identify yourself in that category. You are the one here that started with the pointed comments and insults...sounding quite a bit like the very people you refer to as "one of those." So I'll be on my way. Maybe another time you'll be capable of having a conversation about it ;)

Please inform the percentage of the population and their religious leanings.

I did read an interview with a woman who was offended because she has anorexia, but she had this for many years.

Okay. Ban them, then it will be on buses, on billboards. It is not only the physical aspect that changes a culture, it is the mindset of a culture, and if the majority of Londoners are wanting this, then as I said to Boldtimer, that change has already taken place.

Actually, it is the Islamization of London, at least...or the start of it.

Do you think that it is broadcast that we are making your city more in line with Sharia? Of course not. It is done under the guise of something else...body shaming. And those women who feel bad about their bodies (or other Muslims) will no doubt want this.

You can spin it all you like, but banning ads with women in bikinis is more in compliance with Sharia, no matter what reason is given.

And how did he get to run the govt there. Sounds like he may not be there long.

That's the whole gist of PC...never offend anyone. If you are calling me an asshole for even wanting to talk about this, then you yourself are one of those that does not believe anyone should voice concerns and hold a free debate, without resorting to insults.

If that is your mindset then you are one of the sheep.

Bold, unfortunately, the British have taken the PC pill. They have become sheep. If you speak out about Muslims and what they are doing, it's become a hate crime, I think.

The government have looked the other way for decades now, and as more Muslims become citizens and vote...well need I say more?

What you fail to mention is that there was a substantially large outcry from the London populace to have these ads removed. Having them taken down was actually a promise the Mayor made in his campaign before he was even elected. This isn't the Islamization of the UK you are making it sound like.

Yes it has started and sadly it will continue until we are totally under sharia law, that mayor is trying to "protect" women, protect them against what? They did not need protecting before. I don't think he gives a damn, I believe he is starting to implement Islam.
