I Was Raped and Feel Scared All the Time

I was raped when I was 13 years old. I was so trumatized and too scared to trust guys (accept for my close friends). I warned my friends that I might snap at them because of the terrifying night and if I do don't be surprised becaise I'm still trumatized by it and don't think I'm being mean and it's because of that. I still get that. I snapped at my best friend to don't touch me when she hugged me. She looked hurt. I said, "I warned you. I'm not being mean. I'm still shocked about what happened. I told you."
Has this happened to you?

I don't know what to say. I've never gone through that, I don't know what you would want to hear or what would help. I've had some trauma and abuse in my life, but every situation is different. I've had friends who were raped and the type of things you are feeling are not uncommon. Everyone processes it in different ways, and whatever you are feeling, it is valid and okay to feel that way. However long it takes you to heal and move on, and whatever you need to do to protect yourself from further hurt, it is okay. It's not mean to tell people not to touch you; it's your right. Your body is yours, as is your heart and your mind. If someone is upset because you don't want to be touched, or they are bothered by your feelings, that is for them to process, it's not on you. The feelings of others are outside your control and not your responsibility, just as your feelings are outside their control. This is your life, your journey, and you will grow stronger each day. I am sorry you had to go through that and I hope the future is brighter each day.

@MotherlessDaughter01 well you know she isn't going to hurt you, but you just don't want to be touched. People don't understand that feeling, so, even though you endured hell, try to desensitize yourself.

@MotherlessDaughter01 that's good. Support is important.
I’m familiar with it. It’s a form of PTSD.
