Trouble is these days some "ladies" take offence if you hold a door open...we can't win

@SW-User well that is true. Women often take such things like if the men is hitting on here. Which is bullshit. I am not like that.

@SW-User As they say damned if you and damned if you don't

As it happens, I'll hold the door regardless of female or male...the issue for me is manners and respect..both of which are lacking these days. The gentleman in me changes when I don't get a thank you or acknowledgement for showing manners.

@SW-User i get that. And yes, a REAL gentlemen holds it to both me and women! You seem to be one

@SW-User Im the same, always hold doors, and always say "you are welcome" whether they acknowledge me or not

@imLobo Fairly certain neither of us said holding the door open made us Gentlemen. I believe it's good manners, so is saying thank you.."thank you" is not what i'd call praise. Funny..I've never thought anyone who said thank you was looking for "Attention AND Praise" thank you for clearing that up..oops, there I go again, looking for attention and praise

@imLobo I'm not looking for attention...I just think it's damn rude to not either smile, nod or say thank you.
So I say thank you for them.
So I say thank you for them.

@SW-User oh mate..don't get him started, I tried to explain that very same point and he went off the rails. I think it's the age we are, we were taught certain values. Not for any recognition, but because it's just the right thing to do
