I Am a Big Sister

I have to bite my tongue sometimes when I see my sister doing things that I don't approve of.

But she's different than I was. After all, I regretted not living life more when I was at that age. I want her to experience things... And even if she makes mistakes, they're a part of life's lessons. No use living in a bubble like I did, only to have it burst when I'm older.

I just have to trust her... she's a smart girl.

But ugh, it's scary seeing your baby sister grow up and be an adult.

I'm experiencing the same thing by observing my cousins. I don't approve nor disapprove what they do; but I can't help noticing how different they are compared to me, since I've been living such a huge part of my life in my own bubble. Still am, in a way.

@matt94: Me too. Sometimes I feel a little embarrassed by how I live... I am on my own most of the time, always have been. And there she is out there, living life. I'm happy for her, but I also wonder what I'm doing with my life.

@arcobaleno: Same here, really. I know one day I'll regret living like this, and I sometimes feel like having basically wasted these 22 years of life. I can even force myself to get out there, but it only augments my anxiety until I'll be back to my bubble. It's just the way we're made, I suppose.

@matt94: I get you... I have pushed my boundaries a little, but I still live in a bubble, essentially. My bubble is just bigger now. You need to find someone who can coax you to do things that you wouldn't be able to do on your own :) I wouldn't have experienced most of the things I had today, if not for some of the people in my life.

@arcobaleno: I feel the same about mine as well, it's getting bigger but never bursting. And I suppose you're right, some things can't be figured out alone. Thanks for the advice, by the way. :)
