India holds its culture on dress sense n fashion rigorously over manners. So, a father sees his teen daughter bump into sum1 and not appologise is 100% normal. But if a teen son is going out wearing jogging bottom? "OI! WHAT THE F U DOING!? GO WEAR TROUSERS! wha will people think??"
What will people think? is literally THEE most important thing in Indian culture. Parents have killed their own misbehaved children (sounds hypocritic in wha will people think)? but it is true!
So staying top notch n well behaved kids is an utmost if yer in India. Dress sense is formal trousers, full length shirt for boys/ men and punjabi suit plus make up for women/ girls. Jean n top only if women work.
According to cast system, people will find jobs. So jat will be farmers, jatt females teacher, admin. The cast chumaar will be in retail. Jatt will rather become homeless than work in retail. Why? "What will people think!"
