I Think American Politics Do Not Serve The General Public

It all comes down to priorities. Were we a nation of outstanding moral fiber the choices wouldn't seem so hard. But we're not. We are instead a country of board rooms and bottom lines.

Total combined cost for ALL Congress for a 1 year stretch ?
$804,247,090

I do not believe this number accounts for their perks like healthcare, and kick backs.....
Just sayin, let's call it 1 billion.....

In contrast -
The U.S. military budget for fiscal 2018 is $824.7 billion.
The ACA is expected to cost roughly 134 billion during the same set of time.......

Hmmm.......

As we kill the ever threatening terrorists 1 by 1, and in small groups, using million dollar bombs, lets uninsure 15 million Americans next year. Significantly reducing their quality of life and their lifespans while we're at it.....

Sounds like a great approach towards being a more civilized nation.....
:p

@HikingMan: obviously you are a never trumper . His IQ is very high. He is a billionaire and owns over 250 multimillion dollar companies , he's a successful aTV personality , and president. What have you done ?

I've spent my time working and raising a family. I coach hockey, and I go hiking. Not that any of that has anything to do with anything.

My IQ at last testing was a 121. Again, nothing to do with nothing.

And you ...?

What I don't do very often is blindly label people.....

Mark my words people, one day, someday, your health will fail, or you or someone you love will be involved in an accident that is severe.

Say what you want about it not being the government's responsibility to ensure an adequate means of care for the populace, but someday you'll wish it were otherwise.

Most of those that won't have insurance will be by choice since they won't be forced to buy in any longer. No one will be denied insurance. Whether they can afford it is their problem.
HikingMan · 51-55, M
That would probably end up hurting the bottom line though if all the consumers, most of which reside in the median income brackets, all just up and died off.....

@HikingMan: The country is overpopulated by the poor. The fewer of them the better off the country would be. We've become a country full of takers.

@HikingMan: I think I've found the intellectual inspiration for lastbabyboomer's position on healthcare:
