And all he had to do was say There should be a ban on groups of people meeting in close proximity whether they're demonstrators or Mom's at the school gate. Because if just one carrier within that group sneezes, EVERYONE is likely to be contaminated !

Why does he find THAT hard to convey ?

Of course 'in-it-for-themselves' politicians will twist questions any way they like to get what they want from it.
So a better response would have been "Sir, you're an idiot ! Research the subject thoroughly then come back to the 'adults table' when you can ask a relevant question that might actually help your constituents !"

Gotta separate 'relevance' from 'political gameplaying' and KNOW the difference.
