I Happy Veterans Day

Hugs to all the wonderful men and women who have served and sacrificed. Thank you

I don’t think the word ‘Happy’ is appropriate when thinking of the millions who died and were badly wounded in wars over the centuries .

@MissTaken Well, you have a point, but it’s not Memorial Day. I don’t think it was designed to remember the fallen, but to celebrate those who have served.

@Softandsweet2 Over here November 11th is called Remembrance Day where we commemorate those who served and died in War - seemingly you have a different way of looking at it

@MissTaken it is not a different way of looking at it. Remembrance day was started to honor those that died in WW1. We have a Memorial Day where we remember the fallen soldiers. I don’t know why we choose to observe Veterans Day when you observe Remembrance Day, but it is not the same.

From Wikipedia

Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on November 11, for honoring military veterans, that is, persons who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Yes. My grandfathers were in WWII. My Uncle Gerald was in the Air Force, and my Uncle Richard was in the Army.
