I Am Slowly Healing

The way she would sigh deeply.
Her hands and how she clasped them around the cup of tea she would sip quietly.

She was a gentle soul, her eyes wider than the moon and always so full of expression.

She could be like the stars. There was dew on her lips at all given moments of the day.

And she sheltered herself so that only I could see her light.

I asked her to shine for the rest of the world. And perhaps it was my mistake. Perhaps not, perhaps it was the way it was always meant to be.

For soon before I knew it, the rest of the world would fall in love with her pale moonlight as well.

Her expressions were both like thunder and fire.

I had never seen so much love pour out from one soul.

If she was the moon then I was the sun. And she was a moon that was truly full.

Bright on all sides. And I suppose this is how the moon gained her dark side. That she might be scorched by her sun that she cherished hanging too close above her.

I lost her because the moon could only come out at night. And the hours would pass and wane with no end before her next arrival.

Such Glee could be found in her voice. And she was brighter than I for I was a weak light in her shining embrace.

And the moon would cry tears because of the sun. And though the sun could love, his light was dying day by day. And just to see the moon it would have to get closer to her, scorching her all the more.

Eventually the light died within the sun. And he was blind from being able to see her light anymore. And all he could see was the darkened path he had carved into her bright soul.

So the sun decided to drift away as a lightless star in the cosmos. Carrying with them the precious memories of the beloved moon. And the stories they had shared together.

The moon now shines over an entire planet. No longer full as she once was. But with many more hearts to shine upon than the singular sun she had made her sole world.

Never could eyes sparkle so true and pure.

Never could there be such comfort and warmth from hearing the dreams and desires of the moon.

Appreciated too late, retained but not cherished in the right moment. Because the sun is no longer a light the moon can not look at them as such. And sees right past the lightless being. Who blends in with the perfectly black deep pockets of space that surround them.

The sun is alone. And the moon outshines the sun.

Talk to her, you never know what she is thinking or wishing in her mind...

@NewBeginnings7790 I've spoken before to her but with time distance has grown further. And I understand her perspective with it all even if it is a wound to me. It's a deserving wound.

@NewBeginnings7790 I've been just putting my best foot forward. It's all I can do really. I've been praying for some form of reconciliation to take root. Thank you for your kind words.
