I Had a Mean Teacher

I attended schools and colleges in India which means I had a fair share of physically abusive teachers.

I remember when I was 13, we had this morning class assembly and there was this really shitty woman as a teacher. She suddenly come up to me and pulled me up to the front of the class and started to beat me up for no reason other than she didn't 'like the way I stand'. Since Indian schools support corporal punishments and no one can question the school, I just stood there with bruises on my arm. I didn't tell my mother because I don't want to worry her.

Then another time at college, a professor humiliated me in front of the class because I smiled at him. Then another b*tchy assistant professor did the same because she had inferiority complex.

Anyway, I decided if I have a child, I am never going let them have their education in India with psycho teachers and professors like them.
Glad you wrote that although I am sorry they hurt you. In the States there's an Indian ex-pat "tutoring" scam called KUMON where the kids are hammered 4 hours on end to get stuff "correct" and no talking, questioning or any interaction with the teachers or one another ever. The teacher aides are worked to tears with monotony and pointless "correcting" papers 4 the same hours on end and no talking or interacting among teachers/aides either.

Ghastly scenario.

One day I just walked away. They only wanted a warm body they could "chill" to the bone after about 2 months of telling kids why they were "wrong" and enforced silence in every way.

I'd rather be beaten with a baseball bat. At least something's happening.

The kids were WTF??? or "Just get me through this!!" or "I must obey daddy/mommy or else!!"

Most were Indian or Middle Eastern.
No "gringos" in the class...not a ONE.

Best job I ever QUIT.
