I Love Nightwish

Oh my. I just rediscovered them these last few days. They were part of my cage (check previous stories from loooong ago for reference if curious).

So I went to see a therapist. She asked about my cage and I explained. It's a safe place that prevents nose-diving further than a given point. She asked if I could get that music back, and I said not easily. But I followed up: I want to move forward in my life, finding new things that feel better. I don't wanna go back.

Well, turns out if you find a useful construct in your life, then.. You should probably use it once in a while. Short-term gains from addictive behaviourisms don't work well long-term if used as a crutch. But if used for inspiration... Well. That's a whole different game.

So, she also said I needed to destress while driving, which until now did the opposite. So I put on Classic FM. Luckily those few days before yesterday they played awesome stuff - I don't like a lot of classical music, but I also do like quite a bit. But like actively dislike to the point I can't listen anymore. So, upshot is I continued with it. And I heard We Three Kings. Aha. I longed for a METAL cover with someone like Hammerfall's voice. Oh I wanted it so bad I actually Googled it, realising that if Nightwish covered The Snowman.... There's a chance.

I found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc4opGoURKg

Skip the intro and the first track if you're curious but short on trust or time... It's missing the vocals, but .. Yeah. Then I went back and listened to Floor Jansen's opening gig and *OMG THE SCREAMS** She lives and breathes it. Sometimes not so much, sometimes she seems nervous to completely let go. But when she does... OK She wins. For me, she wins. She's a life of her own again, but in a totally different way than Tarja was.

Also, Nightwish ROCK.
Toodles :)
