I Got The Slipper At School

I notice must describe their punishment as getting the slipper. I do wonder if this was really a slipper or a gym shoe. At school I got, and then as a deputy, used a real house slipper. The top was cut off to leave a very large leather sole that was fairly flexible. I can assure you that this whacked across a boys bottom hurt a lot more than a gym shoe, and still more if the offender was required to bend over and take it on the bare bottom. A slippering with a gym shoe seemed more of a tingle compared to the painful sting of a leather slipper on your bottom

The slipper / plimsoll was the most used implement at my 2 schools - all boys prep and senior school. Used in class as an instant punishment and then more formally as well.
It was always awful when you were told to report. You knew you were going to be whacked but didnt know how many etc. Some teachers enjoyed telling you on Friday to report Monday adding to the worry all weekend.
