My parents were divorcing when my friend died. Then the divorce was finalized a few months after. I feel like I was forced to see the truth about life. So a few years ago I told myself I could never change him because nothing would change him

Lots of times we try and change a person but they won't change until they are ready and your father wasn't changing and wasn't ready so you took the sum total of him and loved him as he is.
