@sillysweetgirl: Life has a way of sobering us up, making us see the truth, so you accepted your father as is loving what you can, to me it shows maturity. Lots of times we try and change a person but they won't change until they are ready and your father wasn't changing and wasn't ready so you took the sum total of him and loved him as he is.
