I Am Afraid of Opening Up to People

This - to the very core of my being. I’m not used to people caring about me. I’m usually the invisible one. So when people are interested, I automatically think...what do you want from me...what is your agenda.

I’m sorry that you’ve had a past that makes it hard for you to welcome the care you should have been shown all along, but try not to let your past dictate your present or future too much. Definitely be cautious to protect your own heart but be open to the idea that there are those who exist who will genuinely care about you without asking for anything in return. They’re out there and they’re everything.

Thats not an unreasonable attitude, since there are very few Mother Theresas in the world. Life is, after all, a negotiable. The trick is to find someone who wants what you have to offer and offers what you want. Then maintain communication to keep the trust.

That’s ok. There are many like you.

Sometimes, people are simply looking for a connection, but you're right to at least ask questions.

@pandamonium Keep asking questions, but don't miss out on a handful of good people.

You’re absolutely right of course. Baby steps. I’ll be a fully functioning and trusting member of society one day (I hope)! @uncalled4
