So do I and I am a NY'er! I say sorry for many reasons. First and foremost because I am in such a rush that you are probably between me and where I want to go. I don't want to slow down, wish you weren't in my way, so the only alternative for a decent human being is to say I'm sorry. :) In addition, after years of being confronted with arrogant, confidently selfish souls who rarely, if ever say I am sorry. It has become second nature for me to offer my apologies to express any and all events that could be seen as resembling those people or character traits.
