Though when I hangout with my black friends I find it really hard to relate to them and end up pretending to be interested in the stuff they're interested in
skin color has nothing to do with understanding someone. maturity, background, culture, the place someone is raised can make it hard to relate. i was taught to always be yourself, honest to yourself is most important.
@swimmergirl well yeah but many types of people groups are raised a certain way and develope certain interested. I mean I could've been overly specific but then it gets too complicated. So in a un-complicated statement i usually have a hard time relating.
@Aidan yes, i know, you made the point of "black friends" i was making the point skin color doesn't having anything to do with it, it s the way you were raised, where, how etc. those are the things people relate too. etc.
I can relate better with those who are authentic, kind, good listeners and willing to talk about meaningful things deeply. In general I don't connect well with other Asians.
