I "Things I'Ve Learned"

[b][big]Things I've learned along the way[[/big]/b]

* IT'S OK TO LIE

* BOOKS AND COFFEE ARE ALL YOU NEED EVERYTHING ELSE IS ENTERTAINMENT

* PEOPLE ARE GOING TO MISTREAT YOU, IT DOESN'T MATTER. YOU ARE GOING TO MISTREAT PEOPLE, TRY NOT TO DO THAT.

* Be kind (ALWAYS) BUT YOU NEVER HAVE TO FORGIVE

* THERE'S ALWAYS SOMEONE SMARTER, STRONGER, YOUNGER, BETTER LOOKING THAN YOU. IT'S OK TO HATE THEM

* BOOKS ARE BIODIGRADABLE AND EASY TO REPLACE. PHONES AND CAR KEYS AREN'T ( DON'T LOSE THEM)

* TIME IS THE MOST VALUABLE THING TRY NOT TO WASTE ANYONE'S

* PEOPLE WATCHING IS OK PEOPLE SHAMING ISN'T.

OK YOUR TURN.

1. Sometimes you have to accept that no matter how hard you try, some things aren’t meant to be.
2. That being said, people succeed for the most part because they really want something.
3. Money is very important.
4. Your health, more so.
5. Keep yourself happy first, charity starts with yourself - then all else will fall into place.
6. Life is nothing more than a series of phases, don’t ever get too comfortable. Enjoy the good phases as much as you can, know that it won’t last. Ride the bad phases as best as you can, this too won’t last.
7. Be authentic with yourself and those around you, try not to sweat the small stuff.
8. Time is a great perspective pill.
9. In the end, it’s love and kindness that counts. Friends and family will leave you, move on, die, times will change, but their feelings about who you are, and yours about them, won’t.
10. It’s important to be silly at times. Joy in everyday things is one of the most valuable things and a positive, elastic mindset will keep your brains fresh for longer.
11. Just be a decent human being, it’s not that hard.

@Lostpoet thanks. It was a good question actually and got me thinking a little.

@SW-User Jeez, they asked for a list, not a frickin novel! 😉

Great list, in particular, I like number 6. That's one you learn later in life after you've gone through some shit.

@SumKindaMunster Your butt is a novel.

Thanks.

1. If there is a disparity between what people say and what they do, assume what they do is who they truly are.

2. Be yourself. Not everyone will like you. That's ok, for there will be people who do like you and you won't have to conform to find friends and romantic partners.

3. Trust yourself.

4. Go after what you want and what you need, for nobody will give you such things, you must go out and get them yourself.

5. Take the time to nurture relationships that you value. You never know when you will need them to be there for you.

6. Social media is bullshit. Take the time to engage with people in the real world. Those interactions do not compare to the interactions online. It's like the difference between fast food and a home cooked meal. They do not compare.

I've learned that a lot of the things I learned are bullsh*t in this day and age and I have to relearn everything all over again LOL
Lostpoet · M
@LucyFuhr I'm glad you are still trying to adjust I've already given up. I decided a long time ago that I'm gonna be me and I can starve on the street if I have to.
People don't change, until they do. And the universe doesnt care.

All you need is love (John Lennon) and determination (me)
Doo dom dom dom. Da doo dom dom (Leonard Cohen's meaning of life)
Fear ≠ Danger
Empathy without boundaries is self destruction
Sometimes the smallest thing in life take up the most room in your heart (Winnie the Pooh)
