I Am a Military Girlfriend

It's easier to pretend I'm single. He isn't deployed, he's on ship with bad reception. We text once a week nothing more. So it's easier to pretend I'm single. That way I don't miss him as much. But it makes me think about him more. Sometimes I feel like it's his way of breaking up with me.

Yeah just don't cheat or end it while he's away or something because that makes lads go crackers and that's not good for somebody in the military.

Why pretend? How long have you been together? Do you still love one another? It seems like you two aren't close anymore. I bet you never thought it would be like this. And if he gets deployed, what happens then? More distance. Sounds like you need to have a serious discussion in person. When is he coming home?

@PoetryNEmotion I still love him. It's been a few months now. I knew he was going to be deployed soon and I anticipated that I won't be able to speak to him for months. But before that happens, I wanted to spend as much time with him before he goes away. I don't know the next time I'll see him, or hear his voice. I guess knowing that he isn't deployed yet and not even talking to me hurts.

Not the first person. I don't know what he's going through. I need to be understanding for his actions. He can be extremely busy or the reception just sucks.
