I Love Literature

I do read a lot! Lately I've been rereading Maupassant. The intricacies of literature constantly surprise me, and the book far beats the dramatisations.

Oh, if you like French literature you should read 'Illusions Perdues' (Lost Illusions' and 'Les Splendeurs et misères des Courtisanes' (A 'Harlot High and Low' is how English publishers name it) by Honoré de Balzac. You will find them most enjoyable. 'Illusions Perdues' was considered by Oscar Wilde with such great reverence that he would refer to it as his 'bible'.
