I Love My Grandmother

I want to tell you this story, cause maybe it's not so interesting, but it's one of the most important part of me. I try to be short, cause I'm very prolix. XD

My grandmother (mom of my mom) is great. And I think, and probably not only me, she was almost great for her entire life.
She's the most important person to me since I was a little boy.
If you ask me about my hero, about my inspiration I think about some of the biggest intellectual and personalities in human history, and I also think about her.

She was the older of 10 brothers and sisters, and she lost her mom while a teenage, so she had to care about everything since she was young.
She faced the poverty, then she and had adventures here and there, and during the war she met my grandpa, which was a great person too, unfortunately he's gone since years now.

They "raised me" cause my parents were both independent professionals (and they still are...).
My granny has seen certain things,I suppose, cause she's unusually strong, I've never, never seen her cry even in the worst situations.
She's not aggressive at all, but she says things like "You're still here, you're alive, so don't be lazy, don't stay like a broken puppet, there are many things to do!"

But she's very cute at the same time, she express her love to others by doing things, actually she's always in action, she wake up and she starts doing things. She never tells me "you're my lovely niece", or give kisses etc, even when I was a kid she used to be like this, but she shows you her love with small actions.
A million small actions, she's always looking to help you to do something, even today that she has surpassed 90 years old. (Oh, she's completely independent of course.)
At the point that if me, or my mom, or uncle etc, if we are too much busy, that day we avoid seeing her, cause she will force us to make her help us, cause "don't be stupid, I'm older than you, I'm an adult and I used to change your nappy, I'm able to help!"
Yeah, but you also need to rest a bit...

Also we all love her attitude very often I met a friend that tells me: "Today I met your granny, she came to met my granny that can't move in her bed." And another one: "She visited my granny too, cause her carer was late...But you told me she's over 90, were you kidding me?" ...Yeah... And tonight she will got to see a concert in the church...

Another thing is that (shhht it's a secret) I'm special for her, cause everyone knows I particulary care a lot about her and I visit her home during the day and night as well (cause she doesn't go to bed at 9PM! Not at all) and she tells me things even silly things that I don't think she shares with others. I love her brain, she's not a genius and she had not the possibility to study, but she's freaking wise and curious even today, she's even more curious than some people of my age. Gosh.
When I go to an exhibition (so very often) or to a place or I rent a strange book in the bibliotheque she wants to know and understand, she asks me things, and if she's something difficult for her (cause she doesn't have scientific basis etc) I see her conscious of her limits, more than frustrated or snob, but next time, she will ask again.
When I was in London, I used to call her and she was like "I'm trying to convince your mom to take me there, I've never been in the UK, I want to see..."

I'm a bit afraid, cause she's old, and one day, not so far, our life will change a lot.

Thank you if you had the patience to read just a bit of this, if she was there, "so tell them to came at my place to have a soft drink or a tea or something!"
