I work full time - my new job

About two weeks after I accepted the offer, they finally UPSed a company computer to me, so I can work from home.

Today (about a week after that), I was finally able to log in to their system. After about three days of going back and forth on the phone with the help desk.

So, I finally got started today. I do have a badly-written document to edit - which is good. This is what I’m paid to do; I take pride in my actual work.

I also had to talk to two different guys on the phone. One of them made no sense at all, and the other made just a little bit of sense. And I suspect I’m going to get pulled into some meetings.

I really, really miss my last job. I’d been there for about a year, and I had finally figured out how things worked around there; and the people were pretty decent.

I hate having to start new jobs. F—- layoffs up the ass with a splintery flagpole.

Lay-offs suck, job changes suck, and learning curves suck because it lasts 3-6 months. But you can and will survive. And it sounds like they need you pretty badly!!! So Eventually if you do a decent job — you may end up in a promotion. Actually sounds like an interesting challenge! Congrats... you only have upwards through some rugged hills To go, but at least you’re heading forward!

I happen to own a splintery flagpole ... and it needs a clean anyway.

I'm glad the new place finally got organized. I hope you learn the ropes quickly, and enjoy it.
