I Have a Chronic Illness
I have several, to be honest. I have glaucoma. That's pretty easily treated, though, and kept under control with drops. In the future, I can opt for laser surgery if it gets to the stage where the drops aren't doing enough.
I have arthritis in my hands and knees, and possibly my shoulder.
I have carpel tunnel syndrome in both hands. The joy of having worked at a computer all my life, I guess.
But the big one, and one I've written about before, is chronic fatigue syndrome. It sucks ass, and while it's cliche to say, I wouldn't wish it on anybody. There's no treatment for it - hell, doctors / scientists don't even know what causes it. A good day for me feels like I pulled an all-nighter the previous night. The bad days, I can't get out of bed. Thankfully the bad days are few and far between lately, for whatever reason.
