I Am Seeking Forgiveness

From God, for my sins..

An orthodox priest said to me God is merciful even to worst of crimes if a heart is really feeling its pain and seeking forgiveness.. i am feeling the strong pain since 2 years.. and this has never left me , maybe God can forgive me.. I cant forgive myself.. but I repent and say the Forgiveness Prayer, if God listens he may listen me completely

Something hit me once as I was learning to forgive myself.
I realized that the past only has power over me when I think about it.
If I preoccupy myself with God in this moment, if I chase him in this instant, If I love him right now, I can escape the past and enter into what christians commonly call rest.

This rest is just peace. peace with the past.
