I Hear Voices

It's pretty rare, but sometimes I just hear a group of voices talking over one another. A few nights ago, a few of those voices spoke in unison. I told my friend about this, and he said I should probably see a professional about that. Today, when my mom gets home from work, I'm going to tell her about it. I'll probably set up an appointment with my GP soon so I can get a referral to see a psychiatrist or something. Hopefully, there can be some sort of treatment that can work for me.

Awww I hate to hear voices it's so annoying.. but nothing can be done in my case..

It's more common than people think. But best to go get it checked out..

Yeah, I've always thought of it as something really rare since I don't know anyone else with this problem. Then again, I don't talk to a lot of people. I do hope I can get help soon.

@hiddenkitty: It's not something people would freely admit or bring up since there's a mental health stigma surrounding it. But I heard a thing on the radio a while back saying that it was actually relatively common and doesn't necessarily mean you're mentally ill.. I guess it just depends on what the voices are saying and if they have any control over you

@walabby: I'm not really thinking about it like that. I recognize that they're not real, so I'm not going to consider that they were warning me.

I was just wondering if there was any context to what they were saying, or if it was totally random. I have on occasion heard my name shouted out, just as I was going to sleep... It seemed totally random...
