I Wish That More Parents Would Parent
What is the purpose of a parent? When I think of that question the first thing I answer with is your guide into life. What if your parent spent the time carved out on being a mentor, attempting to keep a roof over your head or providing food on the table. While the absence of your guide was nonexistent, you spent your days surrounded by companionship of bad influence. The entire time your guide to life is absent, you learned lessons from the streets cultivating a depraved perception. The tainted view of the world has harbored inside of you as a seed begins to grow. There is no light to pave the wave to success. A true reflection leaves you wondering, "how did I end up here?"
In an effort to unwind through the mess you've made, there are no examples to follow.
There are only mistakes to learn from. You're behind on life; a late bloomer. Extensive time is spent erasing and rewriting the thoughts, perceptions and habits once learned from the streets because your guide was absent, securing your survival.
Can I be upset?
Am I ungrateful
Can I have a moment to relish in anger?
I will let it go .... eventually.
Mom, I do love you
Mom, I do resent you
Mom, I am torn
and I am sorry...
