What's the best way to clean your room?

Especially when a lot of stuff doesn't even belongs to your mom and due to those things...you don't have enough space in your room. She won't even listen to me!!! I always try telling her not to put those stuff in my room... I mean seriously.... what am I gonna do with a broken clothes rack? She won't even allow me to throw it away. Then she accuses me of being rebellious. Seriously, where is the justice in that? Why did she even give me my own room in the first place? To make it into her makeshift stock room> If so, you shouldn't have given me my own room.....

I'd really need that one TT_TT I think the real problem isn't actually my room but the fact my mom doesn't want to throw those broken stuff away or give them away...

I use to store all sorts of stuff for maintenance purpose now that I'm older I got rid of 98% of all that stuff made an apartment out of my garage and now I get an income from it

well, she's not respecting your boundaries. so, I would do it my way, but I grew up with that instilled in to my head, but sometimes you've got to give a little. or you're gonna be a push over the rest of your life..

I did try talking to her but it did not work out well. I could always tell my dad since he would probably take my side and agree to throw out or give away those things that aren't really used (instead of having it in the house where it's not useful at all)... but they have just... finished their fight and are on good terms with each other... and I don't want to ruin that. Especially since it's affecting my brother's performance in school since mom just keep on ranting on us about this and that....

Do you have a basement or garage? Maybe you could store the stuff you don't want there and you won't get into trouble for throwing it away.

We don't really have a basement or garage so me and my brother's room are used to store those stuff that aren't even used...
My brother's room - old clothes, bags, toolbox
My room - mostly trash (broken things that aren't even used anymore but my mom refuses to throw them away), some documents and receipts (most of which does not even belong to me), old toys, media players (cassette, VHS,etc.) that don't even work anymore)

Rather than a sorting whiz, it's more like I just don't wanna turn my room upside down when I'm looking for something. I hate it when I'm looking for something I need and I can't find it then when I don't need it, it springs up out of nowhere.

That's what I told her when I said I don't want some of the toys in my room. But she likes them so I can't give them away TT_TT (besides she was a bit deprived on toys when she was a child due to financial difficulties so I don't really have the heart to say no...)
