No, it seems to be tied in with wish-fulfillment (the parents') and validation (the parents' rather than their child....as in 'Haven't you produced a beautiful child? Ergo you must be a wonderful and superior person'.)
Most of the parents who enter their offspring are pig ugly inadequates; might have been or never was people who think that their offspring are mini extensions of them, only existing to glorify the parent.

Not really. If it were up to me, I would say no.
If parents really think their kids are so beautiful, they can just let them know personally, and not have to depend on some anonymous judge to make it official.

when i read what they have to go through and that its mostly the Parents that want that then i don't think its ok very much and the kid should just be allowed to be a kid
