I Wrote Something

My two cents:
I think that the vegan lifestyle is one of the major factors preventing more people from 'switching over'. It's off-putting when you see vegans basing their identity on the label or endlessly ranting about animal cruelty. If you really must try to change people's minds, you have to present a well-researched, unbiased, sensible explanation that highlights why eating meat or animal products in general is not good for your health or why, physiologically speaking, human beings were never meant to eat meat or animal products. The ethics of eating meat are meaningless if we are designed to eat meat. It's like trying to convince a cat that hunting for mice is ethically wrong.

Personally, I think that we eat way more meat than we actually need and the only thing which stops veganism from being taken seriously is that some [stupid] vegans end up with a vitamin B12 deficiency (which are found naturally in red meat). That raises doubt about the legitimacy of veganism because if we are unable to find this vitamin from the plants we eat in our environment, then that makes veganism look stupid. What seems likely here is that in the wild, humans are supposed to eat a small amount of meat to maintain B12 levels. Even so, in this day and age, B12 can easily be taken as a supplement so there's really little sense in eating meat at all to maintain B12 levels, considering that you'd likely be consuming carcinogens, hormones, antibiotics, fecal matter and increasing your risk of colorectal cancer just for a single vitamin. It just doesn't make any sense to eat meat at all.

TL;DR Talk about health benefits of veganism instead of ethics to convince people that veganism is good.
