How old is she?

@MiraRoss It's a theory in psychology developed by John Bowlby. Attachment styles describe how children form attachments to caregivers and how they react when the caregiver leaves and comes back. Attachment styles follow us unto adulthood.

What do you mean by her dad didn't help?

@MiraRoss I was taught that when you leave just say your goodbyes as wells as saying you will be back and then be on your way. Don't stall or try to coax them if they cry, just keep walking. They will see that you always return and can't manipulate you to stay longer.
My concern is that something has happened or is happening that scares her while you are away. Disturbed sleep and separation anxiety together are flags pointing to trauma.
