@Stereoguy I always use 5/8 on ceilings ,no sag ,we always texture so wetting 1/2 " ,people say it won't sag ,I have won bets on that one with guys that have been at it longer then I have been at it
We did mansions for some of the biggest builders in the Carolina's ,they all require it and I agree with their reasons ,
I have hung it alone ,there is a trick for that too ,but I prefer a panel lift verses further killing my back ,but I can stick it alone
and router out can lights while doing it
it used to be weak mind ,strong back ,,now everything has gone to hell

@Stereoguy LOL ..we use something called "hat channel " for sound proofing
Its a metal you put between the stud and the rock that has holes cut in it
Something about stopping the vibrations that travel through a board hung the traditional way ,the only way I know to really soundproof is with egg carton foam panels ,,love that stuff,but I have heard of hanging 5/8 double too

I have no problem with anyone here ,if I did ,I know who to contact to resolve it .
but I admit I am misunderstood sometimes ,I know the way I word things sometimes is not a proper sentence structure ,or my grammar sucks ,I overuse a comma
I am trying to make someone laugh or smile and they take the humor the wrong way ,,but just for asking for a clarification ,,that one is new to me ,

But if anyone speaks to that member ,Please tell them I don't intentionally offend anyone ,and it actually bothers me when I do
I meant no harm ,but if I repeatedly cause a conflit with someone I block them as well ,not because I can't handle them ,but so I don't keep offending them ,I have to many people here I get along with to sweat the few I don't .

It reminds me when they AI bots were on EP trying to learn
and all they learned was how to cuss people out and tell them they were reporting them to the FBI ,,"You have no clue who you are playing with " was its favorite thing to say ,,"I will hack and ruin you " was another reply
But I meant this person no harm ,,it was just asking "am I missing something"?
