I still remember it like it was yesterday
I'd just started freshman year at Columbia so just moved to upper Manhattan, it's still so fresh in my memory, everything about that day and the weeks that followed.
I didn't personally know anyone who preished but it was so close, friends of friends, family members of classmates, they were real people, not just numbers.
What are we, almost 20 years on, I'm not sure the city has ever fully recovered.
Every year I take the day off work, I call my mom, and my son, and spend time with those closest to me, it still affects me.
