I Thought About You Today
We ran amongst the wildflowers, our game of cat and mouse. You pretended to run and I pretended that I couldn't catch you. Those warm summer days will last us a lifetime. We took refuge under the canopy of a huge shade tree. The shade was pleasant and the breeze was inviting. Your skin tasted of cream. Love was ours that day. Soon the sweet smell of rain filled the air and touched our skin. Each rejuvenating drop brought us closer together. We kissed and laughed our troubles away, spoke of life, stars and forever. That is when the sadness settled on you as it always did when dusk came for us. The bright light from your eyes lowly began to fade. We kissed and began yearning for the next time we will meet, making love on a cool summer night.
