I Am In a Long Distant Relationship

I have been in one with a man I met on EP four years ago. It's been on and off but this year he wanted to visit me. I had a strange feeling in my gut, but regardless of that I said yes anyway. However, a day or two later, I panicked and lied to him that I was traveling to Colorado a bit sooner than expected. I don't know If it was a right or wrong decision; he seemed nice, had a nice paying job and had a very interesting life. We had some of the same likes and dislikes and had good conversations about many topics.

It could have been the right choice because even though I have talked with him for a while I still didn't know him well. Questions popped up in my head of, how would he act around me? Is he mentally sound? Plus I haven't told my parents about him at all. And sometimes I think he might be lying about some things even though he says he's honest about a lot of things. I also figured that because he was going to drive 1000 (or so) miles to my state, I didn't want to put HIS life in danger just to visit me.

OR it could have been the wrong decision since I could of just been paranoid and would have finally formed a really good relationship with someone, if I had taken the chance. oh well.
