I Am Not In The Mood For Bullshit
I'm feeling very annoyed today with the bullshit I'm dealing with from several bureaucracies.
Normally, I am fairly patient with bureaucracy. It's annoying, but it's how things get done; it's how the world works in developed nations in the 21st century. It's not like we have any realistic alternatives. I for one do not want to live in a cave and gather nuts and berries to eat.
But on days like today....
I am supposed to start a job "any day now." But, it requires a security clearance, and my security clearance hasn't finished processing yet. So, I can't start my job yet.
I can still get unemployment benefits from the state I live in, because I was laid off from my last job. Except that apparently I missed a deadline, so this week, I am having issues with the state agency that does that.
And, I'm dealing with the health insurance bureaucracy, which is Byzantine here in 'Murica. The pre-Obamacare way of doing things was dangerous; it was basically "be employed by someone who will insure you, or risk needless death or lifelong health problems." But the ACA - the way it has played out - while it's better than nothing, it's still a pain in the ass to deal with. Why can't we have universal single-payer health care?!
I'm so frustrated, pissed off, stressed out, annoyed, and anxious.
