if you were to write a story or a book....

Would you write it from the peace, quiet and solitude of your own house?
Or would you take the energy from a public place like a coffee corner, cafe or library?
Or someplace else?

Everything I have ever written has always been in the surroundings of my home. Granted I have never written a novel, though I have written a few short stories. And of course my prose.

Note I have been heavily influenced by Bradbury, who was known for all the little nick-nacks scattered throughout his home. I am likewise.

I have written a novel (and 2/3 of a second one) and I wrote most of it in the quiet of my own home. Public places provide too many distractions. Now sometimes I did work on it public, but I would have to have headphones on and some music playing. I could get ideas for my writing anywhere, many of them while out with friends or in places inconvenient for writing, but the writing itself generally had to be done in a quiet place.

I like to write stories when I am traveling.

Outdoors by far. Never outside of my home though; as in a public setting
