The list is kind of long.. feel free to delete if it takes up too much space lol.
Ragged; or, the Loveliest Lies of All by Christopher Irvin
It's gritty crime fiction about a dog with a criminal past who tries to avenge his wife's death and protect his pups.

The Clown - Heinrich Boll
https://www.amazon.com/Clown-Essential-Heinrich-Boll/dp/1935554174/
It's about numerous subjects. Nazism and Catholicism. It's like a satire and depressing all in one. Can't really explain it but one reviewer wrote "clowns vs. Catholics" which sums it up nicely.
Oryx and Crake - Margaret Atwood
You probably heard of the series but thought I'd mention it :)

Quicksand House - Carlton Mellick III
Another weird author but really good. About two orphans who grow up in this room of a house but never going outside. They are cared for in this one room their entire lives by robots. When something goes wrong, they have to venture out to find out what happened. I'd really highly recommend this one.

For comedy gold, ANY book by Christopher Moore.. he is hilarious. Like I seriously inappropriately laugh at his books and even pee myself a little.
One of his more known novels is LAMB:

Some other books worth mentioning but not sure if you'd like them.. I like them but not everyone likes my tastes lol:
The Illuminatus! Trilogy - Robert Anton Wilson

Infinite Jest - David Foster Wallace

Malazan Book of the Fallen, by Steve Erikson. It's a great, heartwrenching, series.
If, by chance, you dig fanfic, I just read a similarly heartwrenching fic called 'Veering Left' that legitimately made me tear up multiple times.
