I Like Listening to Old People's Stories

In a bar with friends and acquaintances recently, I and others were entertained and impressed by two of the oldest guys. They were sharing their stories of recovering well from double knee and hip replacements in the last couple of years. They're 77 and 81 years old, as mentally fit and almost as physically fit as they were a couple of decades ago, and both are pestered by their wives to retire soon. Their conversation had caused a few laughs already when one asked the other if he had any trouble getting on the floor and back up. A sort of showing off competition ensued. I was amused by the variety of reactions from the crowd. Some thought that these two were crazy, others had a new respect for them, and a few seemed disheartened over the prospect of their own future abilities. I think they're a great inspiration to do as well as you can in all aspects of life and I hope they continue to do whatever they want.

Wow... it's great that you appreciate that, and that you can enjoy such hearing of stories. Not everyone can. I'm sure you are careful, but it's a good ability to have.

I enjoy eavesdropping on eldery people shooting the shit together, in a bar or pub etc. Can be hard to understand them sometimes, but always fascinating.
